RESULTS
HAMPDEN, Mass.- The LIU Brooklyn men's golf team concluded their second to last tournament of the fall season at UCONN Invitational at Great Horse on Tuesday afternoon. The Blackbirds finished the three-day event in 11th place with a score of 925 (+61).
Four out of five Blackbirds earned themselves in the top 50 on the overall leaderboard. Freshman Kyle Underwood once again showed his steady first-year success, carding a 231 (+15) to pace the LIU scoring group. Underwood improved his score each day by exactly one stroke to land in 35th place overall. Senior George Helsby was not far behind at 16-over 232, carding a four-over par on the first day of competition to finish 42nd. Sophomores Jayden Brown and Manuel Sosa both ended the tournament in a tie for 46th place, shooting 233 (+17). Senior Daniel Reale rounded out the LIU Brooklyn scoring group with a score of 24-over 240.
Freshman duo Abelardo Yepez and Vincent Dicosimo both competed individually for the Blackbirds. Yepez finished 31-over 247, while DiCosimo carded a 78 in one round of play.
The course host Huskies captured the team title with a score of 883 (+19). Cornell's (Jack) Tianyi Cen won a three-way playoff to take home the individual title.
