BROOKLYN, N.Y. --- The LIU Brooklyn women's basketball team begins a three-game road swing to close out the month of February on Saturday with a meeting against St. Francis Brooklyn in the 25th annual Battle of Brooklyn.

- LIU lost its third straight game on Monday, falling to Saint Francis U. 85-54. Petty-Evans bounced back from her lowest scoring tally of the season (one point against Robert Morris on February 10) to record her eighth game of the year with at least 18 points and 20th in double figures. Freshman Tia Montagne made the first start of her career and set a new season-best in her second straight game, scoring 12 points to reach double figures for the first time this season. Senior DeAngelique Waithe scored ten points for her fifth straight double-digit performance and 12th in her last 13 contests.
- Petty-Evans (15.3 ppg), freshman Jeydah Johnson (12.7 ppg), senior DeAngelique Waithe (8.9 rpg) and redshirt junior Drew Winter (5.0 apg) continue to pace the Blackbirds, with LIU sporting a top-5 conference performer in every category (Petty-Evans: 4th in scoring; Waithe: 4th in rebounds; Winter: 1st in assists).
- Winter also leads the conference in total assists (115) and assist to turnover ratio (1.49).
- As a defensive unit, LIU ranks as one of the best in the NEC. The Blackbirds rank third in scoring defense (64.8), field goal defense (.401), blocked shots (3.7), and steals (9.6)
- St. Francis Brooklyn has split its last six contests, including a 49-47 victory over second-place Robert Morris on February 12. LIU has won the last two meetings against SFBK but have lost four of the last five Battle of Brooklyn games. The Blackbirds claimed their last Battle of Brooklyn victory on February 13, 2016 in the 23rd iteration of the event.
- The Terriers are led by Jade Johnson (14.8 ppg), Alex Delaney (5.0 rpg) and Amy O'Neill (3.3 apg).
