Men's Track & Field | Feb 17 | Men's Track Earns Silver At NEC Indoor Championships Story Links NEC Release Results STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. --- The LIU Brooklyn men's track and field team earned a team silver medal at the 2018 Northeast Conference Indoor Championships Saturday, falling just 23 points short of matching the NEC record of five consecutive indoor titles Fairleigh Dickinson set from 1988-92. The Blackbirds earned four gold, three silver and three bronze event medals as the team scored its 110 total points on Saturday alone - more than any other team on the final day of the meet. LIU was edge by Central Connecticut (132 pts), who scored 87 points on Saturday to add to the 45 they entered Saturday with. Leading the way for LIU were Collin Sewell, Braylon Wilkerson and Sean Sinclair. The trio secured the Blackbirds' four championships - Sewell in the 400 meters (48.50), Wilkerson in the 500 meters (1:03.96), Sinclair in the 200 (21.72) and Sewell & Wilkerson on the 4x400 relay - and combined for nearly half of the team's points (48 of 110). Kwesi Henderson and Caleb Williams joined Sewell and Wilkerson on the relay team and produced a time of 3:17.61. LIU's silver medals came from Justin Brown in the 400 (48.75), Roderick Moodie in the 60 meter hurdles (7.99) and Clinton Belle in the Shot Put (51-5.75 / 15.09m). The Blackbirds' bronzes were earned by Logan Jones in the 400 (49.03), Alban Lefeuvre in the 500 (1:06.91) and Ernest Agyeman in the 60 meters (6.89). OTHER NOTES LIU's four straight championships from 2014-17 stand tied for the second longest streak in league history with Saint Francis U's run from 2001-04.
