BROOKLYN, N.Y. --- The LIU Brooklyn women's basketball team will play the first of its only two home games in February on Saturday, February 10 as the Blackbirds welcome Robert Morris to Brooklyn.
QUICK HITS
- LIU will look to bounce back from a 52-44 defeat at Wagner on February 5. In defeat, the Blackbirds had three players score in double figures: senior DeAngelique Waithe posted a double-double (17pts, 11rebs) while redshirt junior Drew Winter and graduate transfer Denisha Petty-Evans each netted 10 points.
- Winter's 10-point effort was the first for her since she scored 12 against Lehigh on December 10 at the Barclays Center.
- For the third time this season, Waithe swatted away a career-best four shots, matching her showings against Mount St. Mary's (January 15) and (January 27) at home last month.
- Petty-Evans (15.8 ppg), freshman Jeydah Johnson (13.3 ppg), senior DeAngelique Waithe (8.9 rpg) and redshirt junior Drew Winter (5.2 apg) continue to pace the Blackbirds, with LIU sporting a top-5 conference performer in every category (Petty-Evans: 4th in scoring; Waithe: 3rd in rebounds; Winter: 1st in assists).
- RMU had won nine straight before falling to Saint Francis U. on February 3rd (68-47) in a battle of the top two teams in the NEC. LIU will be looking for the split in the season series after losing to the Colonials on the road, 60-53, on January 6.
- RMU is led by Nneka Ezeigbo (10.4 ppg, 7.4 rpg) and Honoka Ikematsu (2.8 apg).
