HURRICANE INVITATIONAL RESULTS

CORAL GABLES, Fla. --- The LIU Brooklyn men's and women's track & field teams began the outdoor season in the Hurricane Invitational, hosted by the University of Miami. The small Blackbirds contingent that made the trip competed for two days in South Florida over the past weekend, with sprinter Collin Sewell earning a gold for LIU.

MEN'S RESULTS

• Sophomore Collin Sewell won the 400 meter dash in 47.62, while junior Braylon Wilkerson took third in 47.79 in the race.
• Freshman Alban Lefeuvre slotted sixth in the 400 hurdles in 54.94.
• Senior Airrin Davis was eighth in the 800 meters, coming in at 2:00.56
• The Blackbirds 4x400 meter relay came in sixth place at 3:21.66 behind juniors Kobe White and Beresford Sweeney, senior Kareem Roberts and Davis running the anchor leg.

• Junior Cayla Coleman finished fourth in the 800 meters in 2:22.90.
• Sophomore Taylor Parker earned fifth place in the shot put with a 14.63 on her first throw.
• Junior Deja Johnson placed eighth in the 400 meter hurdles, coming in at 1:05.99.
• Junior Shantae McDonald came in ninth in the 200 meter dash in 24.45.
• The team's 4x100 meter relay team of junior Ashley Blackwell, sophomore Angeli Andre and freshmen Toni Glatz and Courtney McNeil ran a 47.11 to finish in sixth place.
• Andre also teamed with Coleman, junior Zaahira Deboise and freshman Myriah Williams in the 4x400 meter relay, coming in at 3:57.86 in the mile as a team.
