BROOKLYN, N.Y. - LIU Brooklyn freshman hurdler Alban Lefeuvre was named the Northeast Conference Men's Outdoor Track & Field Rookie of the Week, it was announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon.
Lefeuvre, who snagged a bronze medal in the 500m dash at the NEC Indoor Championships in February, made his collegiate outdoor debut at the Miami Hurricane Invitational and returns to Brooklyn as the early-season league leader in the 400m hurdles. The French-born Blackbird ran 54.94 to finish sixth overall in Coral Gables. That time is 20th amongst IC4A regional leaders.
Up next, the Blackbirds head to two prestigious meets to take on some of the best athletes in the nation, at the Texas Relays (March 27-31) and at the Florida Relays (April 3-8).
