Men's Golf Finishes in 7th at Manor Intercollegiate Event

FARMVILLE, VA. --- The LIU Brooklyn men's golf team finished in seventh place at the Manor Intercollegiate, played at the Manor Golf Club, hosted by Longwood University. The two-day event in Farmville, Virginia this weekend marked the Blackbirds' first full event of the spring as they start to prepare for the NEC Championships in April.

Senior Kyle Maihi led the team in two of the three rounds at Manor to finish in a tie for tenth place at 10-over shooting 77-73-76, for a score of 226 on the par 72 course.  Freshmen Jayden Brown (76-80-80) and Manuel Sosa (81-77-78) were tied for second on the squad at 20-over with each shooting a 236. Senior Victor Aronsson (T-41st; 24-over 240 / 82-78-80) was next on the Blackbirds, while junior Daniel Reale (T-62nd; 34-over 250 / 79-89-82) ranked fifth for LIU at the event.

With thirteen teams in the field, LIU finished seventh with a 71-over 935. The Blackbirds shot 313 and 308 in the two rounds on Friday and finished with a 314 in Saturday's round. The host school, Longwood, won the event with a +29, 893.

LIU will head to Grasonville, Maryland next weekend for the Towson Spring Invitational from April 7-8.
