BROOKLYN, N.Y. --
Collin Sewell won the men's 400 meter dash and led the Blackbirds to a first place finish in the 4x400 meter relay as the LIU Brooklyn men's and women's track & field teams competed at the Duke Invitational in Durham, North Carolina. It will be a short week for the Blackbirds with the largest meet in the country, the historic Penn Relays up next later this week.

Sophomore
Collin Sewell soared in the men's 400 meters, with a personal best of 47.16. He ranks first in the Northeast Conference and fifth in the IC4A, and ranks him 5th in the event. Sewell also teamed up with freshman

Braylon Wilkerson running the anchor leg to with the 4x400 meter relay in 3:10.62. The new season best mark leads the NEC and stands fourth among IC4A qualifiers.
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
- The men's 4x100 meter relay finished fourth and ran a season best of 41.00 flat, behind a team of Henderson, Sewell, junior Caleb Williams and sophomore Sean Sinclair. The Blackbirds also lead the NEC in the quarter-mile relay, as well as the mile relay. Williams also finished ninth in the 200 meter dash (10.61) and Sinclair was 10th in the men's invitational 100 meters (10.77).
- Individually, Wilkerson came in sixth place in the Men's 400 meters a season best of 47.51, which ranks second in NEC and qualifies him for the IC4A(9th place) in the event. Wilkerson was also sixth in the 400 meters in 47.63
- Junior Clinton Belle finished eighth place in the men's shot put. Belle unleashed a throw of 15.97 (1st in NEC), which is a new school record, and a huge improvement from his previous 15.69.
WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
- Junior Shantae McDonald finished in second place in the finals of the women's 100 meter hurdles in 13.91, just behind her top NEC time of 13.70.
- Sophomore Angeli Andre and senior DeAngelique Waithe each cleared a height of 1.60 meters in the women's open high jump, as Andre finished second, followed by Waithe in fourth place with her personal best mark. The duo rank fifth in the NEC following this weekend's performances.
- Freshman Toni Glatz came in ninth place in the women's open 100 meters in a personal best of 12.22, which ranks 6th in the NEC.
- Sophomore Taylor Parker hurled the shot put 13.19 meters to put her in 14th place.
- Both women's relays had their season best marks over the weekend with the 4x400 meter relay finishing in fourth place and the 4x100 meter relay slotting sixth. The 1600 meter relay consisting of Glatz, McDonald, sophomore Eugenie Hue and freshman Tara Hernandez ran 3:46.51, which leads the NEC and is a ECAC qualifier. The 400 meter relay sprinted around in 46.09 (1st in NEC) behind McDonald and three freshmen, Glatz, Ashley Blackwell and Courtney McNeil.
