BROOKLYN, N.Y. --- This weekend, the LIU Brooklyn men's golf team takes their turn in the Northeast Conference Championships in Daytona Beach, Florida. The three-round 2018 Championship will be played at the LPGA International on the Hills Course from April 27-29.
LIU AT THE 2017 CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Blackbirds finished in sixth place showing, shooting a combined 72-over 936 (312-311-313) over the three days on the same course. Leading the way for LIU was sophomore Daniel Reale, who tied for 13th place overall with his tournament total of 13-over 299 (70-80-79).
TEAM OUTLOOK
Reale, a junior, has been the Blackbirds' most consistent performer, followed by seniors Kyle Maihi and Victor Aronsson, along with junior George Hensby. Freshmen Manuel Sosa and Jayden Brown have also impressed in their respective first seasons in collegiate golf for head coach Michael Michaelides during his 14th season
CHAMPIONSHIP FORMAT
The NEC Championships are a three-day, 54-hole event. Team scores are calculated by adding a team's four lowest scores from each day. The top ten individual finishers will be named to the NEC All-Tournament team.
