NEC MEN'S GOLF FINAL RESULTS
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. --- The LIU Brooklyn men's golf team finished up the 2018 Northeast Conference Championships Sunday in eighth place, scoring a 948 (84-over) for the three day event. The Blackbirds shot a 323 (35-over) on the Hills Course at the LPGA International in Sunday's final round.
Senior Kyle Maihi was the team leader after three rounds with an 8-over 80 on Sunday to finish at 23-over 239 for the event (27th place). Junior George Hensby was very consistent for his three rounds, shooting a 9-over 81 on Sunday, to place 29th at 25-over (241) for the championship, while freshman Manuel Sosa shot a 13-over 85, to come in with a 26-over 242, putting him in 31st place in his first NEC Championship.
The Blackbirds' other newcomer Jayden Brown improved every day of the event, finishing with a 5-over 77 on Sunday to move all the way up to 34th place with a score of 28-over 244. Junior Daniel Reale who was at 8-over 152 after the first two rounds, only six strokes behind the leaders after Saturday's round was disqualified from the event Sunday.
Central Connecticut State was the wire-to-wire leader of the Championship with a 25-over 889, to win by 12 strokes over runner up Robert Morris.
