PHILADELPHIA, Pa. --- This past weekend, the LIU Brooklyn men's and women's track & field teams competed at the historic Penn Relays, the oldest and largest continuous track meet in the United States, hosted annually at the end of April by the University of Pennsylvania at Franklin Field.
Meanwhile, a smaller contingent of Blackbirds were right across the Delaware River, competing in Ewing, at the Lion's Invitational hosted by The College of New Jersey, as LIU prepares for next week's NEC Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
MEN'S RESULTS at PENN RELAYS
WOMEN'S RESULTS at PENN RELAYS
- In the sprint medley relay the team of Ashley Blackwell, Toni Glatz, Shantae McDonald and Eugenie Hue took second place in 3:56.10.
- Sophomore Stephanie Esogenwune leapt 11.14 meters in the triple jump (27th place).
- Sophomore Taylor Parker was 29th in the shot put with a throw of 12.91 meters.
- In the College women's 4x100 Eastern race, the foursome of Ashley Blackwell, Shantae McDonald, Toni Glatz and Courtney McNeil took fourth in 46.47, improving 0.12 from their preliminary race.
- In the College women's 4x200 meter relay Toni Glatz, Shantae McDonald, Ashley Blackwell and Courtney McNeil finished in 17th at 1:39.62.
- In the College women's 4x400 meter relay, Eugenie Hue, Zaahira Deboise, Cayla Coleman and Tara Hernandez came in at 3:50.50 (29th place).
TOP MEN'S RESULTS at TCNJ
- Freshman Alban Lefeuvre won the 400 meter hurdles in 54.12 and took third in the 110 meter hurdles in 15.24.
- Sophomore Corey Butcher was fifth in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.33.
- Junior Kobe White was ninth in the 100 meter dash in 11.35.

Next week, the teams will go down to Mount St. Mary's for the 2018 NEC Championships Saturday, May 5 and Sunday, May 6.
