NEW YORK, N.Y.— The LIU Brooklyn men's track & field team was in full swing on Saturday afternoon competing at both the Great Dane Classic and Lions Indoor Invitational.
In the men's 60 meter event at the Great Dane Classic, Ernest Aygeman ran a season-best 6.96, narrowly missing the finals to finish 10th in the event. Cequian Brown clocked in with a personal-best time of 7.08. Senior Kobe White clocked in with the same time in the next heat for his season-best mark in the event.
Junior Kimorie Shearman continued his strong season with the top collegiate time and fourth overall in the 200 meter event with a personal-best time of 21.48. His IC4A qualifying time also leads the NEC and ranks 10th in the country in the event.
Junior Braylon Wilkerson finished with an IC4A mark of 1:04.06 in the 500 meter event to place fourth overall. Shearman finished right behind him with a time of 1:04.48 to also qualify for IC4As. Both runners clock in the top-three in the NEC in the event.
At the Lions Indoor Invitational, freshman Jahsira Dunbar placed fourth in the triple jump event with a jump of 14.46 meters. His IC4A qualifying jump leads the NEC.
The Blackbirds are back at it next weekend in Staten Island for the Gotham Cup at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Friday, January 18.
