Swimming to Finish Regular Season Up at CCSU on Saturday

  • The Blackbirds suffered their first home defeat of the season last Saturday against NYC rival Wagner. It was the first time in four seasons that LIU scored 100 points against the Seahawks head-to-head (156-106).
  • LIU won four races on the slate vs. Wagner, as junior Noemie Lacroix-Moreau won the 100 and 200 butterfly, while sophomore Amanda Peren took the top spot in the 100 backstroke and freshman Amanda San Juan won the 1000 freestyle.
  • It was also senior day last week for the team's first trio of four-year swimmers, Mads Carrigan, Nathalie Meyers and Briana Vega.
  • CCSU is 2-0 lifetime against LIU in the pool over the last two seasons. The teams did not compete head-to-head in  2015-15.
  • The Blue Devils are led by senior Aidan Devers and junior Valentina Gomez, a distance specialist.
