BOULDER CITY, Nev.- The LIU Brooklyn women's golf team completed their first tournament of the spring season Tuesday afternoon at Battle at Boulder Creek II in Nevada. The Blackbirds finished sixth in the field, with a combined three-round score of 976.
Freshman Ashlee Garrett had a strong showing for the Blackbirds on the first day of play positioning herself in 19th place, with scores of 83-78-161. On the final day of play, Garrett shot a team-tournament low 73 to improve to end the tournament in 12th place. Senior Sara Ciliberto carded a season-low 79 on the third round Tuesday afternoon, landing herself in 25th place (84-83-79--246). Close behind was the pair of juniors, Aida Gonzalez and Rebeca Pardos, both shooting 249 to finish in 26th place.
Rounding out the finishers for LIU Brooklyn was senior Emma Paschal (261) and freshman Lexi DeLorimiere (289).
UNLV took home the tournament hardware for both the team and individual championship. Elizabeth Prior was the winner on the day for the Running Rebels, shooting an overall score of 216.
Next up, the Blackbirds play host at the Lonnie Barton Invitational located at the LPGA Course in Daytona Beach, Florida on March 3rd.
