SOMERSET, N.J.-- LIU Brooklyn men's golf team was picked sixth in the annual Northeast Conference Men's Golf Preseason Coaches Poll, the league announced Tuesday afternoon.
2017 NEC champion Bryant claimed first-place, as the Bulldog's picked up five first-place votes. Last years runner-up Robert Morris (two votes) and Sacred Heart (two votes) landed in a tie for second place.
The middle of the pack was made up of fourth-place Fairleigh Dickinson, fifth-place Saint Francis U and LIU in sixth. A tie for seventh-place between Mount St. Mary's and Wagner, and St. Francis Brooklyn (ninth) completed the pre-season poll.
LIU Brooklyn finished the the 2018 NEC Championship in eighth place. George Helsby is the Blackbirds top-returning finisher after placing in the top-30 last season.
The Blackbirds will open their spring schedule in sunny Daytona Beach, Florida as they play host at the Lonnie Barton Invitational on Sunday, March 3.
