BOCA RATON, Fla. - The LIU Brooklyn women's tennis team fell to the No. 2 nationally-ranked Division II opponent Lynn University Wednesday afternoon, 4-0. The Knights won the doubles point and three singles matches to take the victory.
In doubles, Lynn had a 6-1 win in the No. 1 doubles spot, and clinched the point with a 6-2 victory in the No. 3 spot. The Knights were also leading 5-2 in the No. 2 spot when the point was clinched and the match was suspended.
In singles, Eleonora Liga beat
Ana Leonte in the No. 5 spot, 6-0, 6-1, to increase the match lead to 2-0. Senior
Anna Grigoryan fell in the No. 1 spot, 6-2, 6-1 to make it 3-0 for the Knights, and the match was clinched when Federica Mordegan beat
Malin Leysen at No. 4, 6-0, 6-1.
With the team win clinched, 4-0, the remaining three singles matches were suspended.
