GILBERT, Ariz.— The LIU Brooklyn field hockey team had 18 members named to the 2018 Zag Field Hockey/National Field Hockey Coaches FHCA Division I National Academic Squad on Monday.
940 student-athletes from 76 Division I institutions earned National Academic Squad program honors for 2018, achieving a 3.3 or higher grade point average in the first semester of the 2018-19 academic year.
LIU was represented by Lauren Alburg, Elena Andreyev, Haley Ballard, Marisa Batista, Casey Carrigan, Jenna Chrabolowski, Madi Cook, Olivia Dennis, Bridget Elison, Adena Gordon, Amy Reid, Nikki Silipino, Skai Sprenkle, Taylor Sullivan, Lydia Trout, Gillian Vallaster, Eva van Wakeran and Emilee Vizzuso.
Additionally, the Blackbirds also earned NFHCA Division I National Academic Team Award given to programs with a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the fall semester.
