BROOKLYN, N.Y.— The LIU Brooklyn field hockey team was represented with two National Field Hockey Coaches' Association Scholars of Distinction on Monday afternoon. Juniors Lauren Alburg and Lydia Trout represented the Blackbirds as NFHCA Scholars of Distinction.
Only 140 student-athletes were recognized as Zag Field Hockey/ NFHCA Division I Scholars of Distinction. The program recognizes those student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.90 or higher through the first semester of the 2018-19 academic year.
Alburg and Trout are now two-time honorees for the Scholars of Distinction program. Both were also named to NFHCA National Academic Squad last week with 16 of their teammates.
