HAMDEN, Conn. – The LIU Brooklyn women's tennis team won their third straight dual match Saturday afternoon, beating Quinnipiac, 4-0.
 
The Blackbirds won the doubles point with two wins in the top two spots. Ana Leonte and Anna Grigoryan had a quick in in the top doubles spot, beating their Bobcat opponents, 6-3. And juniors Jessica Brzozowska and Sasha Bollweg clinched the point with their 7-5 win in the No. 2 spot. Malin Leysen and Clemence Krug were tied up in the No. 3 spot, 6-6, when their match was called because the point had been clinched.
 
LIU entered singles with a 1-0 lead, that quickly grew to 2-0. Leysen had a quick win in the No.4 singles spot, beating Proyfon Lohaphaisan, 6-3, 6-1. Grigoryan made it 3-0 with her win in the No. 1 singles spot, where she beat Jennifer Lu, 7-5, 6-0. And Bollweg clinched the match with her win in the No. 3 singles spot, where she beat Payton Bradley, 6-3, 6-1.
 
The remaining three matches were stopped when the deciding match point was clinched, and the Blackbirds took the win, 4-0.
 
Up next, the Blackbirds travel east to take on Stony Brook, Friday, April 5 at 5:30 p.m.
