RESULTS
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.- The LIU Brooklyn men's golf team concluded play at the annual Lonnie Barton Invitational on Tuesday afternoon. The Blackbirds recorded three finishers in the top-50 in the field at LPGA International.
Freshman Kyle Underwood continued his strong play from the fall season as the Blackbirds top performer. Underwood posted a two-round score of 9-over 153 (77,76) and finished tied for 18th place. Senior George Helsby ended in an eight-way tie for 23rd with a 10-over 154 (78,76) and senior Daniel Reale was marked in a tie for 31st after shooting 11-over 155 (76,79).
Rounding out the Blackbirds scoring group was freshman Abelardo Yepez (28-over 172/ 87-85) and sophomore Jayden Brown (30-over 174/ 89-85).
As a team, LIU Brooklyn finished 14th among the field (58-over 634/ 318-316). Bethune-Cookman University took the team title shooting 8-over 584 (286,298), while Connor Schmidt of Drexel won the individual title (3-under 141).
The Blackbirds are back at it today as they start the Gary Freeman Spring Invitational from March 6th-8th in Daytona Beach, Florida.
