DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.- The LIU Brooklyn women's golf team returned to the LPGA International course Thursday as they completed day one of the Lady Cat International, hosted by Bethune-Cookman University. The Blackbirds ended the first day of play tied for 10th place after two rounds, shooting 639 (326-313) on the day.
Freshman Ashlee Garrett continued her success as the Blackbirds leading scorer, posting a two-round score of 13-over 157 (82-75) to land in a tie for 37th place. Junior Aida Gonzalez and Senior Sara Ciliberto ended the day tied for 44th place, Gonzalez carding 15-over 159 (82-77) and Ciliberto shooting 15-over 159 (80,79). Freshman Lexi Delorimiere and senior Emma Paschal concluded the LIU scoring group with 164 (82,82) and 184 (96,88) respectively.
Bethune-Cookman is the tournaments current team leader at four-under 572, while Yudika Rodriguez of the BCU Wildcats resides in first place (140).
LIU will begin its final round of action at the Bethune-Cookman Lady Cat Invite Friday morning (March 8) at 8 a.m.
