ANNAPOLIS, MD.-- The LIU men's golf team opened the first round of its regular season finale, the Navy Spring Invite at the Naval Academy Golf Course in
Annapolis, Maryland. The Blackbirds stand in tenth place out of a 15-team field at 24-over 308.

Freshman Kyle Underwood was one of two Blackbirds in the top-30, as he finished tied for 6th at 2-over 73. This marks the fourth time Underwood has shot below 75 in the first round through his first year-career. Senior Daniel Reale tied his second best showing of the season carding 5-over 76, good for a T-25th place finish. 

Third for the Blackbirds was senior George Helsby who posted 7-over 78 in the first-round to land in a tie for 45th. Sophomores and teammates Manuel Sosa and Jayden Brown rounded out LIU's team scoring group at 10-over 81 (T-61) and 11-over 82 (T-67th) respectively.

Freshman Abelardo Yepez competed as an individual and finished T-77th at 13-over 84.

The final round of the Navy Spring Invitational is scheduled to begin on Saturday, April 19th at 8:30 a.m.
