GREENWOOD, S.C.-- The LIU Brooklyn women's golf team jumped one spot on the leaderboard to place eighth at the Lady Bearcat Invitational Tuesday afternoon. The Blackbirds finished 11 strokes better than their first round score shooting 34-over 322, with an overall score of 79-over 655.
Freshman Ashlee Garrett claimed the Blackbird low of the day, carding 6-over 78 (161) to climb 19 spots on the leaderboard and eventually finishing in a tie for 18th place. Junior Aida Gonzalez bested her first round score by two strokes to land in a tie for 21st, shooting 8-over 80 (162) in the second round. Senior Sara Ciliberto was third for the Blackbirds at 32nd place, shooting 11-over 83 (165). Junior Rebeca Pardos shot 9-over 81 (168) to land in the top 50 while Senior Emma Paschal rounded out the Blackbird scoring group, scoring 16-over 88 (174).
Playing as an individual, freshman Lexi Delorimiere finished 20-over 82 (185) in a tie for 66th.
NEXT UP: The Blackbirds will have a little over a week to prepare for Northeast Conference Championship in Daytona Beach, Fla. The tournament takes place from April 12-14th.
