BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The LIU Brooklyn women's lacrosse team dropped their second Northeast Conference game of the season at home Saturday afternoon, falling to Robert Morris, 15-8. With the loss, the Blackbirds move to 6-9 overall, and 3-2 in the NEC.
Robert Morris jumped out to an early lead on the Blackbirds, scoring three quick goals in the first two minutes to go up, 3-0. From there, the Colonials scored again to widen the gap to 4-0 before LIU got on the board. Sophomore
Rachel Masullo scored first for the Blackbirds, on an unassisted goal with 18 minutes left in the first half. RMU would score three more times before LIU would score again, this time on an unassisted goal by sophomore
Elise Person with 11 minutes left to cut the gap to 7-2.
Adriana Santucci and Masullo would each score for the Blackbirds in the first half, but RMU took an 8-4 advantage into the half time break.
The Blackbirds slowed scoring in the second half, but the Colonials would still score three more times, to take an 11-4 lead on LIU. Sophomore

Bridget Neiley with 15 minutes left to stem the spree, but another RMU goal would make it 12-5 with 14 minutes left to play.
Person would score her second goal of the game at the nine minute mark in a man-up situation, but RMU answered by scoring three more goals over the next five minutes, to make it 15-6.

Isabelle Peng both scored in the final minute of action for the Blackbirds, cutting the final score down to 15-8.

Virginia Gibbons had nine saved in net for the Blackbirds, while junior
Bianca Santucci added two assists.
Up next, the Blackbirds hit the road for the last two games of the regular season, taking on Wagner, Friday, April 26 at 4 p.m., before heading south to face off against Mount St. Mary's, Sunday, April 28 at 1 p.m.
