PHILADELPHIA, Pa.— The LIU Brooklyn men's track & field team opened competition at the 125th Penn Relays on Friday at Franklin Field. Senior Roderick Moodie continued his strong season with a top qualifying time in the 110 meter hurdles.
Moodie clocked in at 13.95, good for fourth overall and tied the Blackbirds school record set by Brian Richards back in 2013. With his personal-best and IC4A qualifying time, the Kingston, Jamaica native moves on the Saturday's championship race (3:20 p.m.).
Senior Caleb Williams placed 18th in the 100-meter dash event with a time of 10.93.
LIU's 4x400 relay team consisting of seniors Braylon Wilkerson and Deshawne Bunion along with juniors Kwesi Henderson and Collin Sewell finished 14th with a time of 3:12.07.
The Blackbirds 4x100 relay squad of sophomore Justin Brown, Moodie, Wilkerson and Williams placed 20th with a time of 41.79.
In the field events, senior Clinton Belle finished 37th in the shot put event with a throw of 14.70 meters in the rainy conditions.
LIU finishes up competing at the 125th Penn Relays on Saturday, April 27.
