PHILADELPHIA, Pa.— The LIU Brooklyn men's track & field team concluded competition at the 125th Penn Relays at Franklin Field on Saturday afternoon. The Blackbirds competed in three events in the festivals final day.
The Blackbirds shined in the triple jump event with three competitors placing in the top-10. Freshman Krishna White led the way with a personal-best and IC4A qualifying mark of 14.77 meters to finish second overall. Classmate Jahsira Dunbar placed fifth in the event with a mark of 14.44 meters. Junior Jared Lovelace registered a jump of 13.87 meters to place 10th overall.
LIU's 4x400 relay squad of senior Braylon Wilkerson and juniors Deshawn Bunion, Kwesi Henderson and Collin Sewell placed second overall with a season-best mark of 3:13.44.
The Blackbirds 4x100 team consisting of seniors Roderick Moodie, Wilkerson and Caleb Williams along with sophomore Justin Brown placed third in their event with a time of 41.55.
LIU begins preparations for the 2019 Northeast Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships set to take place May 4-5 at CCSU.
