Christine Friel joined the LIU Brooklyn athletic training staff in 2010 as graduate assistant athletic trainer for two years, and was promoted to assistant athletic trainer prior to the 2012-13 season.

Friel works with the Blackbirds' women’s basketball & golf programs. In addition, Friel is also responsible for maintaining emergency and specialty protocols according to NCAA standards and coordinating all sports medicine related student-athlete paperwork.

Friel graduated from Dominican College in 2010 with a Bachelors of Science degree in athletic training. While attending Dominican, Friel gained experience at the United States Military Academy in West Point, N.Y., where she worked closely with the Army football, men’s soccer and men’s gymnastics squads.

Friel received a Master of Science degree in advanced athletic training from LIU Brooklyn in 2012. She was also the recipient of the Dean’s Award for Clinical Excellence.

The Nanuet, NY native is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association, Friel is also a Board Certified Athletic Trainer. She currently resides in Brooklyn, N.Y.
