Stony Brook, N.Y. - The defending Northeast Conference champion Long Island University women's tennis team kicked off its fall season at the Stony Brook Classic, a three-day event that featured singles and doubles matches as well as a one-on-one doubles exhibition. The doubles duo of senior Stephanie Elie and junior Dara Lahens enjoyed three victories.

 

Lahens and Elie defeated Marist's Kayla O'Donovan and Kelsey Raynor, 8-4, and handed Army's duo of Erin Colton and Larraine Saavedra and 8-6 defeat. In their last match of doubles action, Lahens and Elie downed Navy's Julie Dias and Lindsay Olsen, 7-0.
