Conley Sets Personal-Record in Cross Country at UAlbany Invite

Conley raced to an 83rd place finish and a time of 20:05, almost thirty seconds faster than her previous season best, and more than a minute better than her effort last year on the Albany course. She was followed by senior Robin Renahan, who was the 135th harrier to cross the line in the field of nearly 200. Renahan clocked in at 21:31 and was followed by junior Emily Rosario, who came in 148th with a time of 21:51.

Junior Tiffany Parker was the fourth Blackbird across the line, coming in 169th with a time of 23:00. Sophomore Tricia Beckles raced to a 176th place finish and a time of 26:23.

On the men's side, senior Julius Mutekanga continued his leadership, clocking in at 28:33 and earning a 140th place finish. Sophomore Chris Welch was the second Long Island male to finish, coming in 157th and earning a time of 29:18.

Senior Vincent Gangemi clocked a 30:47, finishing in 170th place. He was followed by Sam Egadu and Nelson Mora, who finished in 181st and 182nd, racing a 32:50 and 33:05, respectively.

The Blackbirds have next weekend off the set their sights on the Northeast Conference Championships at in New Britain, Conn. The gun goes off Oct. 30 at Stanley Quarter Park.
