Brooklyn, N.Y. – Long Island University senior Selma Babic was named the Northeast Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week after winning her singles and doubles matches against Southern Utah.

 

The reigning NEC Player of the Year defeated Ksusha Nazarova (6-3; 6-2) at No. 1 in singles action. She teamed with freshman Aleksandra Pavlovic to defeat Ksusha Nazarova and Olga Tatarchenko at No. 1 doubles, 8-2. The Blackbirds defeated the Thunderbirds, 6-1.

 

Long Island returns to the court on against Cal State-Bakersfield on Tuesday.
