Tennis Gets Back on Winning Side of Ledger with 4-3 Victory Over Rhode Island

The Blackbirds took the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2. At the top spot, senior Selma Babic and freshman Aleksandra Pavlovic defeated the Rams duo of Pam Emery and Amanda Barlettta, 8-1. At the second position senior H'Ann Johnson and freshman Taysha Blessington downed Kirsten Leikem and Christen Cadigan by the same score.
 
Long Island won three singles matches to clinch the team win. Babic continued to cruise at the No. 1 spot, winning her seventh straight match. The Bosnia and Herzegovina native ousted Leikem by a 6-1; 6-1 margin. At No. 4, Blessington earned a 6-1; 7-5 victory over Cadigan and junior Dara Lahens took home a win at No. 6, defeating Brook Hoover, 6-2; 6-4.
 
Long Island will wrap up regular season play with a visit to Army on Saturday, April 10 at 3:00 p.m.
