Flushing, N.Y. - The Long Island University women's tennis team rebounded from a loss to Fairleigh Dickinson with a 4-3 home defeat of Rhode Island at the USTA Tennis Center. The Blackbirds improved to 10-3 with the win.

Long Island won three singles matches to clinch the team win. Babic continued to cruise at the No. 1 spot, winning her seventh straight match. The Bosnia and Herzegovina native ousted Leikem by a 6-1; 6-1 margin. At No. 4, Blessington earned a 6-1; 7-5 victory over Cadigan and junior
