Stony Brook, N.Y. - The Long Island University women's tennis team continued its struggles, falling 7-0 at Stony Brook. The loss was the sixth straight for the shorthanded Blackbirds, who fell to 1-8 for the season.
After dropping doubles decisions at the No. 1 and 2 spots and defaulting at the third position, Long Island was unable to win a set in singles play. Sophomore

Dara Lahens fell to Katherine Hanson, 6-2; 6-3 at No. 4. Junior
Zelie Pfeiffer, in her first action of the spring after missing eight matches with an injury, lost the first set at No. 5 to Salome Mkervalidze, 6-0, before retiring.
The Blackbirds will return to action on Sunday, April 3, hosting Northeast Conference opponent Monmouth at the USTA Tennis Center at 1:00 p.m.
