Flushing, N.Y. - The suddenly-healthy Long Island University women's tennis team snapped a six-match losing streak with a 7-0 sweep of Northeast Conference rival Monmouth at the USTA Tennis Center. The Blackbirds took the doubles point with a pair of wins before making easy work of the Hawks in singles play to even their conference record to 1-1 (2-8 overall).

Aleksandra Pavlovic defeated Dana Ferrari at the second position. Freshman
Fatima Ouattara defeated Katie Tierney, 6-0; 6-0 at No. 3 and senior
Dara Lahens dealt Jessica Slinger a loss at No. 5 by the same margin. At No. 4, sophomore
Linn Sjogren handed Shelby Goldman at 6-2; 6-0 loss and junior
Zelie Pfeiffer defeated Raciel Arribe, 6-1; 6-3, at the sixth spot.
Long Island will return to action on Wednesday, April 6, with a visit to Fordham at 3:00 p.m.
