Complete Release

Brooklyn, N.Y. – The Long Island University women's track and field team was named a Division I All-Academic Team by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association it was announced on Thursday. The Blackbirds were among 164 squads to earn the honor. To be considered for recognition, teams had to maintain cumulative team GPA of 3.0 or better.

 

The LIU women's team enjoyed a strong campaign on the track and in the classroom. The Blackbirds won the Northeast Conference indoor championship for the second straight season and finished third at the outdoor championships. The squad has also earned USTFCCCA all-academic recognition each of the last two seasons.
