Nampa, Idaho – LIU Brooklyn senior Jessie Gaines competed in the triple jump on Saturday at the NCAA Championship at Boise State University. Gaines leapt to a mark of 12.64 meters at the event.

The jump is Gaines' second longest of the season. The Chesapeake, Va. native set a new school record in the event at the 2012 New Balance Collegiate Invitational after leaping to a mark of 13.14 meters.

This year's Northeast Conference Championship MVP and three-time NEC Field Athlete of the Week, Gaines and the rest of the Blackbirds open the outdoor season on March 16 at the USF Invitational in Tampa, Fla.
