Boston, Mass. - The LIU Brooklyn women's track team competed in the ECAC Championships on Saturday and Sunday, coming in 7th place overall. Senior Jessie Gaines led the Blackbirds with three top-three finishes.

Gaines took the top spot in the long jump with a leap of 6.18 meters. Rookie Bryanna Williams was 15th with a mark of 5.36 meters. In the triple jump, Gaines took third with a leap of 12.61 meters. In the 60-meter hurdles, Gaines was second with a time of 8.37 while classmate Torrie Saunders was seventh with a time of 8.63.

In the 60-meter dash, senior Charlene Fuller finished in third place with a time of 7.57. Freshman Shakia Williams was 13th in the 200-meter dash, clocking in at 25.06. Shakia Williams combined with Saunders and seniors Jazmin Waller and Kadisha Wickham for the 4x400-meter relay, coming in seventh with a time of 3:44.98.
