Brooklyn, N.Y. - The Northeast Conference announced its Spring Academic Honor Roll on Wednesdat, which included 53 student-athletes from LIU Brooklyn. The honor roll included a total of 882 student-athletes across nine league-sponsored spring sports with a 3.20 or higher grade-point average. Likewise, the league released a 206-member Commissioner's Honor Roll comprised of student-athletes with a 3.75 or higher GPA, which included 10 LIU student-athletes.
LIU had student-athletes from the baseball, men's golf, women's golf, women's lacrosse, softball, women's tennis, men's outdoor track and field and women's outdoor track and field teams named to the Academic Honor Roll. Three members of the LIU softball team were named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll: sophomores Lauren Morizi and Heather White and junior Lindsey Walker. A pair of baseball players were similarly recognized: freshman Matt Higginbotham and junior Chris Untereiner. Freshman Colleen Holmes of the women's lacrosse team, freshman Brianna Maynard of the women's golf team, sophomore Lisa Maas of the women's tennis team, graduate student Jarenn Stewart of the men's track team and freshman Katrina Anderson of the women's track team also took home Commissioner's Honor Roll accolades.
All scholar-athlete award winners must have earned a minimum of 60 semester hours, maintained a minimum cumulative grade-point-average of 3.20 and participated with distinction as a member of a varsity team.
