BROOKLYN, N.Y. - LIU Brooklyn freshman Nathan Stewart was named the Northeast Conference Men's Soccer Co-Rookie of the Week, it was announced by the conference office Monday. This is Stewart's first weekly award of his career.

Stewart, a forward, helped the Blackbirds to their first conference win of the season last Friday against Robert Morris. Stewart scored the first goal of the game off of a free kick from Brice Merwine, as LIU Brooklyn went on to claim a 2-1 victory over the Colonials. 

Stewart leads the Blackbirds with three goals on the season.

Up next, LIU Brooklyn (5-7-1, 2-1-0 NEC) faces Bryant at LIU Field this Friday, Oct. 25th at 4:00 p.m.
