BROOKLYN, N.Y. - LIU Brooklyn junior Brice Merwine was named to the Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team for District 1 men's soccer, it was announced Monday.

Merwine, a forward from Carlisle, Pa., holds a 3.95 GPA in mathemetics at LIU. On the field, he leads the Blackbirds in points in 2013 with seven, and has scored two goals and added three assists, including a goal and an assist in the team's win over Robert Morris. 

In his career, Merwine has been named to the Northeast Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll twice, and was also named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll in 2012.
