BROOKLYN, N.Y. – LIU Brooklyn freshman Shanice Grant received her second consecutive Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week award, it was announced by the league on Tuesday.
After her league-leading hurdles performance landed her the NEC Rookie of the Week award last week, Grant used her high jumping prowess to retain the honor for another week.
The first-year Blackbird cleared 1.72m (5' 7.75”) at Morgan State Legacy Meet, soaring into a tie for second on the Northeast Conference leader board in the process.
Grant, who owns ECAC Championship qualifying marks in the 100 hurdles (14.06) and high jump (1.72), tied for first at Morgan State.
