LAST TIME OUT
The Blackbirds earned their first victory of the season last Friday, a 4-1 rout of Howard. Brice Merwine scored his seventh goal of the season, while Nahuel Medina, Tyler Draovitch and David Nuernberg also recorded their first goals of 2014. Tanner Sica added two assists, while Nick Cavaretta had one for his first point of the year.
ABOUT THE BLACKBIRDS
Merwine continues to be tied for sixth in NCAA Division I with 0.88 goals per game, and seventh in total goals. He also leads the conference in goals per game. With five assists on the season, Sica is also at the top of the leaderboard, tied for seventh with 0.63 assists per game.
ABOUT THE EXPLORERS
La Salle snapped a three-game winning streak with a 3-0 loss at Villanova on Wednesday. The Explorers are 3-5-1, defeating Manhattan, Bucknell and Stetson this season with no losses at home.
Joe Farrell has scored three of the team's eight goals this season, while Matt Robinson has chipped in two. Goalkeepers Mike Kirk and David Tuchinsky have a combined save percentage of 0.744, with a 1.21 goals against average. The team averages 1.00 goals per game, with a 0.084 shot percentage.
