BROOKLYN, N.Y - The LIU Brooklyn men's soccer team plays two of its last four regular-season contests this weekend, beginning with Bryant on Friday at 3:00 p.m. in Smithfield, R.I., before returning home to LIU Field to host Fairleigh Dickinson on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
ABOUT THE BLACKBIRDS
Despite their first NEC loss of the season on Sunday, the Blackbirds are in third in the NEC with six points. They are one point behind Bryant, and three behind first-place Saint Francis U. LIU Brooklyn split the weekend, defeating Robert Morris 1-0 on Friday, before dropping a close 3-2 match two days later against the Red Flash.
David Nuernberg scored his second goal of the season on Friday to secure the win for the Blackbirds, while on Sunday, Brice Merwine added his 10th of the season, while Tanner Sica knocked in his first. As a team, the Blackbirds tie for second in the conference in goals per game and total goals, and are third in saves.
ABOUT THE BULLDOGS
Bryant has not lost an NEC match yet this season and is second with a 2-0-1 record. The Bulldogs defeated both Saint Francis U. and Robert Morris in 1-0 games, but most recently tied with last-place Sacred Heart 1-1 in double overtime.
Brett Larocque leads the Bulldogs with six goals, three assists and 15 points on the season. The team averages 1.25 goals against, with a 0.805 save percentage and take 11.75 shots per game.

The Blackbirds are 3-2-1 all-time against Bryant. Last year, the two teams played to a 1-1 tie at LIU Field.
ABOUT THE KNIGHTS
Fairleigh Dickinson is tied for four with Central Connecticut and St. Francis Brooklyn with a 1-1-1 record this season. In their one contest last weekend, the Knights tied 2-2 with CCSU.
Enver Caymaz and Nico Wright each scored three times this season, and the team averages 11.5 shots per game, while allowing 1.91 goals per game.

The Knights lead a series dating back to 1955, 34-26-1. FDU defeated LIU 1-0 last season.
