NEW BRITAIN, Conn. - The LIU Brooklyn women's cross country team competed at the Central Connecticut Mini Meet on Friday afternoon at Stanley Quarter Park.

The Blackbirds ran a 3K at the site of the 2014 Northeast Conference Cross Country Championships. Esther Jean-Louis led the Blackbirds, placing 22nd in the sub-varsity race in a time of 11:31.51. Teammate Adjovi Simpson was next for the Blackbirds, clocking in at 12:16.66.

Also competing for LIU were Kara Dixon, Alea Stevens and Brittany McClain. Dixon finished in 13:23.87, Stevens in 14:54.02 and McClain was right behind in 14:54.03.

Up next, LIU Brooklyn heads back to Stanley Quarter Park for the Northeast Conference Chmapionships on Nov. 1.
