NEW BRITAIN, Conn. - The LIU Brooklyn women's cross country team placed 10th at the Northeast Conference Championships hosted by Central Connecticut on Saturday afternoon at Stanley Quarter Park.
Freshman Esther Jean-Louis, who led the Blackbirds all season, was the top finisher for LIU Brooklyn in the 5K course. She was 50th over all, and ran to a time of 19:59.96, with an average mile time of 7:02.4. Freshmen Adjovi Simpini was right behind her, finishing in 61st place in 20.53.90.
Junior Samantha Nguyen finished in 22:30.25, while freshman Kara Dixon crossed the line in 23:48.70. Rounding out the competitors for LIU Brooklyn were Alea Stevens and Ravika Ramulam, who finished in 27:14.66 and 28:57.86, respectively.
Sacred Heart won the team title for the second straight year, while CCSU's Elizabeth Eberhardt was the top individual finisher in 17:27.5.
