Final Results
PRINCETON, N.J. - Highlighted by a win in the 4x400 relay, the LIU Brooklyn men's track and field team completed a successful day at the Larry Ellis Invitational, hosted by Princeton University on Saturday afternoon.
In addition to the relay win, the Blackbirds had several athletes perform well in individual events. Amir Armstrong won the triple jump with a leap of 14.89m, 3.3 centimeters better than the second place competitor.
A pair of Blackbirds turned in runner-up finishes. Eric Williams was second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.84, while Brendon Rodney was .01 seconds out of first place with his time of 20.92.
Also competing in the 100-meter dash was Dannish Walker-Khan, who was fifth in 10.89, and Tyquan Dukes, placing 10th in 10.93. In the 400-meter dash, Alistair McLean was 10th in 10.84.
Capping off the track events was the winning 4x400 relay, finishing ahead of 19 other squads. Mica-Jonathan Petit-Homme, Alistair McLean, Kervin Morgan and Darius Neely edged out No. 21 Cornell with a time of 3:12.53.
In other field action, Kemar Lewis was fifth in the high jump at 2.04m, while Adam Walker Khan was 11th with a mark of 6.63m.
Up next, the men's track and field team heads to Philadelphia, Pa. for the historic Penn Relays from April 24-26.
