Nearly four minutes would pass before either team scored again. Robert Morris had back-to-back goals for an 8-3 advantage with 5:27 left. The second half started off slower than the first, with both teams trading position for the first four minutes. A successful Robert Morris clear gave way to its ninth goal of the game. The Colonials scored twice more before the Blackbirds ended their second half scoring drought with a free position goal from senior Jesenia Cantres, to close the gap to 11-5.
Scoring would remain stagnant for the next seven minutes, until another Colonials' goal. But two goals from Peters and one from Shinkowitz had the Blackbirds only trailing by five with 8 minutes to play.
