BROOKLYN, N.Y - LIU Brooklyn junior Katrina Anderson has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District I women's track and field first team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Anderson has a 3.90 grade point average as a biology major at LIU Brooklyn. The Capital One Academic All-District track and field team, which is voted on by sports information directors around the nation, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.
In addition to her academic sucess, Anderson helped the Blackbirds to their first Northeast Conference Outdoor Championships win since 2006, and a second place finish at the Indoor Championships. She won both the 800 and 1500 at the Outdoor Championships, and was victorious in the indoor 800 as well. Anderson also broke the LIU record in the indoor 800-meter run in January, setting a new mark of 2:09.96 at the Terrier Invitational.
As a first-team All-District honoree, Anderson will be eligible for Academic All-America honors, which will be announced later this month.
