University of Albany Invitational Final Results
ALBANY, N.Y. - Esther Jean-Louis set a new school record this Saturday, when the LIU Brooklyn women's cross country team took part in the 49th Annual University of Albany Invitational.
The sophomore broke the 5K record time of 19:11.90, set by Margaret Nolan (1986-89). Jean-Louis finished the 5K race with a time of 19:11.70, and finished 40th overall in a 186-competitor field.
Jean-Louis' classmates, Adjovi Simpini and Kharyn Ethridge were the second and third Blackbirds to cross the 5K finish line. Simpini finished the race with a time of 20:56.3, and Ethridge with a time of 21:15.8.
Juniors Alison Doway and Anghie Hall were the final Blackbirds to complete the 5K. Doway crossed the line at 22:43.7, with Hall behind her at 25:27.8.
Next up, the LIU women's cross country team will head to Smithfield, R.I. to compete in the Northeast Conference Championships on Halloween morning.
