DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -
The LIU Brooklyn women's golf team heads to Daytona Beach, Fla. in search of its fourth straight Northeast Conference Championship title. The three-round, three-day tournament begins this Friday, April 24 at the LPGA International on the par-72 Jones Course.

BACK-TO-BACK-TO-BACK
The Blackbirds have won three consecutive Northeast Conference Women's Golf Championships, from 2012-14 under head coach Natalie Desjardins. LIU Brooklyn has also made three straight trips to the NCAA Tournament after earning the conference's automatic qualifier.

ENJOYING THE PROCESSDespite their continued success, Desjardins said that each year is its own year, and the Blackbirds take each tournament one day at a time.

"Every year is a new year, we reset at the beginning of the year and set new goals and really concentrate on the journey rather than the end result," she said. "Every tournament we enter brings new challenges/learning experience. The girls are looking forward to this weekend and enjoying the process as we have with every tournament thus far this year."

KEEPING UP WITH THE JONESES
LIU Brooklyn has already tested the Jones Course at the LPGA International this season with much success. The Blackbirds hosted the Lonnie Barton Invitational on the par-72 course in Daytona Beach, Fla. and left with an 11-stroke victory over Siena after overcoming a 17-stroke deficit during the first round.

TOP-3's THE CHARM
The Blackbirds have come in the top-three or better at four tournaments this season. They started off the year with a third place performance of 15 teams at the Tignanelli Towson Invitational, before following that performance up two weeks later with another third place finish at the St. John's Invitational. LIU Brooklyn then won the 17-team Rutgers Invitational, before opening the spring season with a win at their own tournament, the Lonnie Barton Invitational.

WEEKLY HONORS
LIU has dominated the NEC weekly awards in the 2014-15 season, with players earning honors three of the five times this season. Senior Cristina Felip picked up the award for the month of September and the week of April 1, while senior Brianna Maynard was the NEC Golfer of the Month in October.

PRESEASON FAVORITES
LIU Brooklyn was picked to win the 2015 NEC Championship in the preaseason coaches' poll. The Blackbirds received five first place votes with Saint Francis U following second in the poll with the remaining two first place votes. Fairleigh Dickinson took the third spot while Wagner edged out Central Connecticut for fourth place. Sacred Heart and St. Francis Brooklyn rounded out the seven team poll.

CHAMPIONSHIP FORMAT
The conference championship is a three-day, 54-hole event. Team scores are calculated by adding the team's four lowest scores from each day. The top-10 finishers are named to the all-tournament team.
