Fagan and Felip Tied for Sixth After First Round of NEC Golf Championship

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Junior Victoria Fagan and senior Cristina Felip are both tied for sixth after the first round of the Northeast Conference Women's Golf Championship at the LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla.

The Blackbirds sit in sixth place after carding a 326 on the first day, but are only 12 strokes behind first-place Wagner. Central Connecticut is in second with 318, followed by Sacred Heart with 320, Fairleigh Dickinson with 322, and Saint Francis U. with 324.

Fagan and Felip lead LIU with scores of 79 on the day. Fagan started the day with a birdie on the first hole and parred 10, while Felip led LIU with 11 pars.

Junior Marisol Doglioli, the reigning individual champion, shot an 81 and is tied for 15th.  She had one birdie on the day and was even on par-3 scoring.

Seniors Alice Boothroyd and Brianna Maynard are tied for 28th and 32nd, respectively. Boothroyd carded an 87 on the afternoon, while Maynard shot an 89.

Wagner's Noelle Maertz and Saint Francis U.'s Taylor Jaramillo are both tied for first with scores of 73.

The second round begins tomorrow morning, with LIU Brooklyn teeing off at 8:00 a.m.
